Robin represents Lothian and Borders. Robin became a JP in 1993 when he was a councillor for Edinburgh District Council. He retired as a councillor in 1996.
He worked in his family engineering business full-time upon leaving school in 1973. Upon the business being closed down in 1988, Robin moved into IT and has never lost interest in the subject since then. Millenium Night was spent in iBM’s call centre in Greenock.
After the millenium Robin took his IT skills into HMRC working in various roles until 2020 when he retired.
Robin took up curling while at school and toured twice for Scotland but has stopped playing for a number of years. He still enjoys IT and is interested in a number of related subjects especially on how Artificial Intelligence will affect the Judicial world.
