Consultation in Tayside Central and Fife

The consultation for the formation of Justice of the Peace courts in the sheriffdom of Tayside Central and Fife has now started. The document is available by clicking here. Comments have to be returned by 30th September 2008.In this Sheriffdom there are 7 Local authority areas and 10 Sheriff Courts. All the Justice of the Peace courts will continue in the same towns as the current District Courts, but over time it is proposed that all be will located within the Sheriff Court buildings.
The proposal is that the courts will be created under the Scottish Courts Service on 23 February 2009.
