Justices Development Committee December 2011

The Development Committee of the SJA met on Tuesday 6th December 2011. Susan Kirkwood was reappointed to the Chair and Bob Mitchell became secretary. The committee reviewed its remit and explored some of the challenges that lie ahead. These included attempting to make access to the Judicial Intranet and SJA website less daunting to those members reluctant to use them, exploring how the committee could contribute to Justices personal development and the need to make JSC learning materials more accessible to individual Justices. The proposed dates of the two 2012 National Training Conferences were noted. It was felt that a 5 year training cycle did not accurately reflect the training needs of individual Justices and ways of identifying these were discussed.
