400 years of Justices of the Peace in Scotland

1609 act creating Justices of the PeaceIn 1609, King James VI established the office of Justices of the Peace in Scotland.  To mark the 400th Anniversary, the Cabinet Secretary for Justice hosted a reception in Edinburgh on 24th June. A special edition of the Scottish Justice will be issued later this summer with reports.

The next meeting of the SJA Executive is on Thursday 27 August 2009 in Edinburgh
